By Car:
From Manhattan, take the Midtown Tunnel to the Long Island Expressway (495) East. Continue on the LIE East to Exit 70, Route 111 to Manorville/Eastport. At the end of the off-ramp turn right on 111 and follow it to the end to Route 27 East. Stay on Route 27 East passing through Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Wainscott to East Hampton. As you approach East Hampton, there will be a light at the lovely Town Pond where Route 27 East jogs left. Turn right at the light and immediately turn left on James Lane (behind the pond), pull into the driveway of The Hedges Inn on your right at 74 James Lane.
By Bus:
The Hampton Jitney is a luxury express bus line serving Manhattan, JFK and LaGuardia (LGA) Airports and the Hamptons. The jitney stops along third avenue in Manhattan and Route 27 in the Hamptons, The East Hampton stop is in front of The Palm Restaurant on Main Street. Take a taxi or walk 3 blocks West (to your right as you face The Palm) to James Lane (just past Guild Hall) and continue past another 2 blocks to The Hedges Inn to 74 James Lane.

By Ferry:
Cross Sound Ferry:
New London, CT to Orient, NY, Cross Sound Ferry: 1.25 hours. Reservations necessary for car. High speed passenger ferry also available. From the ferry, take Route 25 West to Route 114 to the North Ferry (no reservations necessary) from Greenport to Shelter Island. Follow 114 across Shelter Island to the South Ferry (no reservations necessary) from Shelter Island to Route 114 North Haven. Follow Route 114 past Sag Harbor and into East Hampton (where Route 114 ends) and turn right on Route 27/Main Street. Take your first left at the start of Town Pond and that 1 block road will connect you to James Lane. Make a right on James Lane and The Hedges Inn will be on your left at 74 James Lane.

From Port Jefferson take Route 112 to the LIE East and follow the directions above.

By Train:
The Long Island Railroad leaves from Penn Station at 34th Street and stops in East Hampton Village. Take a taxi from the East Hampton station or walk left to the light and turn right on Newtown Lane. Walk through town to Route 27/Main Street (about 4 blocks) and cross at the light. Walk West (to your right as you are crossing at the light) approximately 5 blocks to James Lane (just past Guild Hall) and continue past another 2 blocks to The Hedges Inn at 74 James Lane.

From The George Washington Bridge take the Cross Bronx Expressway East to the Whitestone Bridge.
